Tuesday SR12 collision at Monte-Brady Road injures two

A two-car collision on State Route 12 at the Monte-Brady Road exit sent three people to the hospital early Tuesday evening, according to a Washington State Patrol press release.

According to the report, a 17-year-old Matlock driver was heading eastbound on State Route 12 and attempted to turn left onto Monte-Brady Road and failed to yield to a 2018 Chevy Silverado pickup heading westbound. The collision totaled the 1996 Ford Explorer driven by the Matlock driver, who was not injured but taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital as a precaution.

The 31-year-old Aberdeen driver of the Silverado was injured, as was a 19-year-old passenger, according to the report. Both were transported by aid car to Grays Harbor Community Hospital. Their conditions and injuries were not released. The Silverado was also totaled.

The Matlock driver faces charges of failing to yield the right-of-way, said the report.
