Stanley George Vessey, 64, a lifetime resident of Montesano, passed away on Feb. 4, 2022.

He was born on Dec. 1, 1957, in Aberdeen to John William and Janice Beverly (Zepp) Vessey.

During his high school years, he enjoyed motorcycles, and one time he even entertained the student body by riding through the halls on his dirt bike.

In 1979, he met Susan Wold and knew immediately that she was the one. They married in 1981 and in 1983 they welcomed their son, Adam Richard Vessey.

Stan had many joys in life. One of his greatest joys was working with Vessey & Sons heavy equipment next to his son Adam. He also had fun living life on his own terms and driving his Corvette at the speed of sound.

While he enjoyed thrill-seeking in fast cars and working alongside his son Adam, he also relished spending time with his wife Sue traveling to Las Vegas and taking beautiful country drives.

A proud father and a blessed husband, Stan was also a wonderful grandfather to his amazing granddaughters, Bristol and Brynley. They could often be found laughing and joking. He loved to watch them smile and even got them a playground set that is fit for a park.

The 4th of July however, is where Stan would shine. His BBQs were unmatched and his fireworks show could rival those put on in major cities. You always left Stan and Sue’s house feeling full and filled with a patriotic spirit.

Stan’s outlook on life was always positive no matter the circumstances, and if you ever needed help he was always there to lend a hand.

Stan is survived by his wife Susan, who resides at their family home, their son Adam (Jennifer) Vessey, his granddaughters Bristol and Brynley, his mother Janice Vessey, his sister Sue (Bruce) Huntington, his brothers Scott (Lois) Vessey and Dale (Cheryl) Vessey; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father John Vessey and his brother Steven Vessey.

A celebration of life will be held at the Elma Pavilion on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. A potluck will immediately follow.
