Revival of Grays Harbor holds donation drive Sunday at Sears

Helping the homeless

Revival of Grays Harbor is holding a donation drive Sunday at Sears in the Shoppes at Riverside mall. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., there will be a donation booth for Revival, where they welcome donations of goods bought at Sears as well as any money or other goods brought from home.

Revival Grays Harbor assists homeless people with means and a warming shelter in cold weather.

After noon, the first 50 people who donate $20 or more of value in Sears products will additionally get a gift card to Sears, which Emily Reed, one of the founders of Revival, said was made possible through her connections working at the store.

“The manager at our local Sears called corporate and told them I used to be an employee here, so they decided to step in and help further,” said Reed.

The main things Reed hopes to have donated are blankets and pillows for the 50 cots they were able to purchase, but also said useful toolkit items from the hardware section would also be beneficial for stocking stuffers during Christmas.
