A loving son, brother, father, uncle, papa, nephew, cousin, friend.

Frederick “Fred” Lee Wardlow, 63, of Hoquiam, Washington, unexpectedly and peacefully passed away on Wednesday Oct. 20, 2021, at his home in Spalding, Idaho.

Fred was born on Dec. 30, 1957, in Hoquiam, Washington to Larry and Delores Wardlow. Fred was the oldest of four kids. His siblings are Robert Wardlow of Aberdeen, Washington; Cathy Wardlow of Hoquiam, Washington; and Michael Wardlow of Hoquiam, Washington.

As a child Fred spent most of his time playing sports, from Little League to basketball. and he discovered his lifelong love for football. Fred enjoyed being at the ocean with his father clam digging, fishing, or on the lake water-skiing. He loved being at home with his family watching the Seahawks, Huskies or the Mariners play.

Fred was a hardworking family man. He married Marilyn Tweed in 1989. He was a great father to her four children, even after they separated in 2005.

Fred started his logging career while he was in high school. After 20+ years, he decided he wanted to travel and in 2006 he became an over-the-road truck driver until he retired in 2018. In retirement, you could find Fred fishing on the Columbia River with his best friends Jim and Kathy Arvan, Scott Ackerman and his new friend Patsy McNally. When he wasn’t fishing, Fred would be with his grandkids in the pool, on the trampoline, boating or camping. Fred preferred to be outdoors regardless of the weather, but the sun was his favorite. He would be listening to Queensrchye with a smoke in one hand, a beer in the other, a smile on his face and not care in the world.

Fred is survived by his five children, Christine, Sharon, Larry Cory and Dean. Fred also had five nephews, one niece and 14 grandchildren.

Fred was preceded in death by his father Larry Lee Wardlow in 2010.
