Parker Jr., Solan win Grays Harbor Men’s Amateur Open golf titles

COSOMOPOLIS — Jon Parker Jr. and Steve Solan walked away with top titles as the Grays Harbor Country Club held its Men’s Amateur Open tournament last weekend.

Parker took home the low-gross championship with a two-round total of 136, edging Scott Crouthamel (139) and Eric Hagen (142) to earn the title.

Solan won the low-net score championship by posting a 130, just one stroke ahead of Chris Grubb (131) and three ahead of Bruce Beck, who finished in third place with a 134.

In the Senior Division, Jeff Wright claimed the overall gross score title with a total of 145. Tom Cooper finished second with a score of 158.

The Senior’s net score title winner was Gale Dahlstrom, who posted a 132 to beat Kirk Figg by four strokes.

Closest to the pin winners on Saturday were Sean Dunn (Hole No. 4, two feet, nine inches), Solan (No. 7, 8-8.50) and Ron Russell (No. 16, 4-08.50).

Sunday’s KP winners were Red Ralls (No. 4, 3-10), Hagen (No. 7, 8-09) and John Stullick (No. 16, 15-00).
