Grays Harbor College places second at Olympic College Invitational

Nate Johnson places fifth overall to pace Chokers

The Grays Harbor College men’s golf team placed second overall at the Olympic College Invitational on April 2-3 at the Gold Mountain Olympic Golf Club in Bremerton.

Led by a fifth-place finish from Nate Johnson, the Chokers finished four shots off the pace of meet-champion Southwest Oregon Community College.

Johnson shot a two-day total of 149, carding a 75 on Sunday followed by a 74 on Monday.

Michael Jump (78-74, 152) and Cole Wasson (75-77, 152) tied for seventh place with all six GHC golfers scoring in the 70s in each round, leading to what Chokers head coach Ann Swanson said was “their best outing so far this spring.”

GHC will compete at the Columbia Basin Spring Invitational April 16-17 at the Canyon Lakes Golf Course.
