It was a busy day for Twin Harbors prep track and field teams as many braved the wet, chilly weather to compete in league meets on Thursday.

Montesano sweeps home league meet

Montesano’s boys and girls track and field teams were victorious at a 1B/2B/1A League Meet on Thursday at Jack Rottle Field in Montesano.

The Bulldogs boys team scored 184.5 points to outpace Morton-White Pass (133.5 points) and Winlock (80) in second and third, respectively.

Montesano was led by a personal-record victory from sophomore Ashton McKinney in the 200 meters (24.24) and a victory in the 100 (11.99).

Monte senior Jesse Anderson crossed the line first in the 800 with a season-best time of 2:04.61.

Montesano also got wins from senior Gabe Bodwell (high jump, 5-6; javelin, 139-9.5) and the 4×400-relay team of Peyton Damasiewicz, Jerrell Bayless, Mason Rasmussen and Anderson (3:37.00).

In the girls competition, Montesano scored 201 points, beating second-place Morton-White Pass by 99 points with Mossyrock placing third (76).

The Bulldogs won 15 of the meet’s 18 events and were led by multi-event winners in freshman Haley Schweppe (800, 2:26.96; 1600, 5:26.29), Sam Roundtree (100 hurdles, 18.45; 300 hurdles, 53.32), MaKenzie Eaton (pole vault, 7-06; long jump, 14-2), Alayna Olson (400, 1:09.01; triple jump, 31-11).

Fresh off her school-record 140-01 javelin throw on April 19 at the Kalama Twilight Invite, senior Mikayla Stanfield won both the javelin (130-10) and 200 (28.18) on Thursday.

Monte is set to host a league meet starting at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Aberdeen teams place second at league meet

Aberdeen’s boys and girls track and field teams placed second overall at a 2A Evergreen Conference Meet on Thursday in Rochester.

The Bobcats boys teams placed second with 71 points, 30 points behind first-place W.F. West.

Aberdeen was led by event wins from junior Henry Nelson (400, 50.80 PR), senior Caleb Schimelpfenig (110 hurdles, 16.45; 300 hurdles, 42.80), senior Tyler Bates (shot put, 51-11; discus, 162-02) and the 4×400-relay team of Schimelpfenig, Cordell Roberts, Micah Schroeder and Nelson (3:35.03).

The Bobcats girls team placed second with 71.5 points behind first-place W.F. West (104.5).

Aberdeen was led by event-winners Rylee Brooks (shot put, 29-07), Bella Bruner (disus, 94-06) and Zoe Troeh with a personal-best 33-03.75 to win the triple jump.

Aberdeen will compete at the 64th Shelton Invitational on Saturday at Shelton High School.

Hoquiam, Raymond compete at Seagulls league meet

Hoquiam and Raymond boys and girls track teams took on multiple teams in a 1B/2B/1A League Meet on Thursday at the Leo Rubstello Track in Raymond.

In the boys competition, Hoquiam placed second with 85 points, two points better than Raymond (83) in third place.

Hoquiam was led by freshman Ryker Maxfield, who won both the 800 (2:18.09) and 1600 (5:00.16).

Raymond winners were Austin Snodgrass (100, 11.84; shot put, 45-02), Kal Phelps (200, 25.59), Chris Banker (high jump, 5-06) and the 4×100-relay team of Logan Frank, Snodgrass, Isaac Schlueter and Banker (46.94).

Hoquiam’s girls team placed third overall with 95 points.

The Grizzlies were led by junior Katlyn Brodhead (100, 13.66; 200 28.53), freshman Emily Brodhead (400, 1:11.85), sophomore Sydney Gordon (shot put, 33-03) and sophomore Haylee Jahner (pole vault, 7-6).

Raymond placed fifth with 50 points.

The Seagulls got wins from sophomores Ava Baugher (high jump, 4-6) and Mary Indalecio Loza (3200, 17:14.36).

Both Hoquiam and Raymond are scheduled to compete at the 64th Shelton Invitational on Saturday in Shelton.

Elma teams place second in Eatonville

Elma’s boys and girls track and field teams placed second at a 1B/2B/1A League Meet on Thursday at Eatonville High School.

The Eagles boys team placed second with 94 points behind host Eatonville (140.5).

Elma winners were freshman Ricardo Guadarrama (100, 12.04), freshman Frank Roberts (800, 2:10.72), junior Ryder Nelson (110 hurdles, 17.91; 300 hurdles, 43.76), senior Jacob Meadows (triple jump, 37-0) and the 4×400-relay team of Ashton Brown, Aaron Tuttle, Nelson and Jackson Schneider (3:51.53).

The Eagles girls team scored 93 points to place second behind Rainier (115).

Elma was led junior Georgia Burkhart (100 hurdles, 19.29; 300 hurdles, 54.57; triple jump, 29-9) with three event wins and freshman Faith Bossard, who had a personal-best mark of 14-0 to win the long jump.

Elma is scheduled to compete at a league meet on Thursday in Onalaska.

North Beach boys win at Pacific League meet

The North Beach boys track and field team placed first at a Pacific League Meet on Thursday at Ocosta High School.

The Hyaks scored 129.5 points to place first ahead of Napavine (111.5), Naselle (101) and the host Wildcats (67).

North Beach winners were junior Elton Rockey (300 hurdles, 46.06) and the 4×400-relay team of Wyeland Lomedico, Kobe Charley, Dakota Russell and Atticus Pullis-Lauderdale (4:04.88).

Ocosta’s lone event win came from senior Ivan Weber, who placed first in the pole vault with a clearance of 9-00.

In the girls competition, North Beach (158 points) and Ocosta (78) placed second and third, respectively behind first-place Napavine (162).

North Beach winners were freshman Elka Cox (200, 31.57 PR; 100 hurdles, 18.78; 300 hurdles, 58.34), sophomore Jazmine Goldman (1600, 6:25.25) and the 4×100-relay team of Macenzie Osborne-Hansen, Cox, Vyolet Dodson, Piper Fleming-Engler (59.20).

The Hyaks will compete at the 64th Shelton Invitational on Saturday in Shelton.

Ocosta will compete at a league meet on Thursday in Onalaska.
