Joann D. Frazer, 92 year-old resident of Montesano, passed away Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at Puget Sound Care in Olympia, Washington. She was born on Feb. 14, 1933, to John and Nora (Andrews) Frazer in Montesano, Washington.
Joann was proud of being a direct descendant of John Andrews, of Massachusetts Bay, who gave refuge to the early settlers.
Joann graduated from U of W with a BA in French Literature, MA in History, and minored in Science. She taught Senior High School History in Ballard and later taught in Montesano. She retired from teaching to care for her Mother at home for 12 years, who was paralyzed and blind.
Joann attended the United Methodist Church in Montesano. She was involved in the GH Olympians Hiking Club, GH Amateur Radio Club, Hoquiam Lions Club and Hoquiam YMCA.
Some special times in Joann’s life were winning 1st runner up for Miss Astoria in 1951 by playing classical music on the piano as her talent. She also enjoyed her travels to Egypt, and loving and caring for her special (Miss Kitty) Jasmine.
At Joann’s request there will not be any funeral services.
