James L. Anderson was born on July 4, 1945 to May Rosalie Anderson and Martin Eugene Anderson, and stepped into a new journey on Oct. 14 2025, at the age of 80. He was surrounded by love. He was a loving husband, beloved brother, cousin, father, grandfather, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was born and raised in the Seattle area and enjoyed his time there, and all the city had to offer. He was an avid Mariners fan and enjoyed the Seahawks as well. He later retired to Grays Harbor to be closer to family.

James loved a great cup of coffee, and could drink it all day if he could. Jim and his sister DeDe could share a pot of coffee while walking down memory lane and just enjoying the conversations about all things near and dear to them. James also enjoyed cooking, barbecuing, spending time outdoors, and going fishing. He was very proud of his Yakima heritage and spent time going to pow wows. Plus, spending time with his family and friends was important to him. There are not many people who knew Jim, who didn’t have the opportunity to eat some of the wonderful food dishes he made. He will be remembered for his fun-loving nature, wonderful laughter, and a smile that could light up a room. The love that he had to give just shined from his eyes, and he was, without a doubt, always up for a hug and a good joke. He will forever be missed here …. on the earth side.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
