Adolph R. Hammer, 61, of Aberdeen, Washington, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020, surrounded by his children at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington. Adolph was born August 22, 1959, to Robert and Darlene Hammer in Aberdeen, Washington, the youngest of three children. He graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1976. After high school, Adolph worked a variety of positions at Mayr Bros. Logging Company for 16 years and later worked as a technical support specialist for web applications at Safe Harbor in Elma, Washington.
Adolph had a love for the outdoors, computers and working on new projects in his garage. He created/built a go-kart for him and his son to ride and enjoy together. He enjoyed new tools (big and small) and was always working on something new or making gifts for those he loved.
On August 20, 1994, while riding his dirt bike at a friend’s house, an unfortunate accident left Adolph paralyzed from the waist down. After extensive surgeries and rehabilitation, Adolph resumed independent life. He even invented an all-terrain chair for the disabled which received a patent in June 2000.
Adolph is survived by his children, Jason Hammer and Stephanie Cotton; his siblings Robert Hammer Jr. and Debby Hammer; his grandchildren Parker, Tanner, Carson, Evan, Natalie, Easton, Ryan and Alyssa. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Adolph loved his family and spoke highly of them to anyone he met.
Due to COVID19, details for a Memorial Service will be postponed until further notice.
