At the Wildfire Hazard and Risk Mapping listening session held on Jan. 22 in Aberdeen, the Wildfire Hazard and Risk Mapping project team explained how they developed the draft statewide wildlife hazard map. This image is of the Aberdeen area by its annual burn probability that was generated by the FSim: The Large Fire Simulator tool. For example, after running a 20,000-wildfire season simulation, a pixel experiences a wildfire on 16 different occasions, which makes its annual burn probability 16/20,000 (.0008) or 0.08%.
