Anita V. Whitney of Aberdeen, passed away peacefully on Oct. 6, 2021.

Anita V. Whitney, 88, of Aberdeen, Washington, passed away peacefully on Oct. 6, 2021. Anita was born April 19, 1933, in Olympia, Washington.

Anita was married in 1950 to her husband Carl, and together they had three sons. They were married 52 years until his death in 2002.

Anita worked various jobs over the years; as a small business owner of a seafood market, cannery worker and bartender. She had many fond memories of her time working in the canneries but her favorite job of all was working in the kitchen at Camp Thunderbird in Olympia, Washington from 1996-2003.

Anita enjoyed attending church, socializing with her peers, gardening, cooking and crocheting, and she loved her pets. She had special relationships with many of her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Anita was preceded in death by her mother and father Helen and Henry Bausch, and her husband Carl Whitney. She is survived by her sons: Ed (Sue) Whitney of Mesa, Arizona; Steve (Barb) Whitney of Aberdeen, Washington; and Jeff (Kathy) Whitney of Westport, Washington; along with 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in Anita’s honor at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
