McCleary golfer scores hole-in-one at Oaksridge course

Sutton aces 11th hole at Oaksridge

McCleary resident Pat Sutton recorded his first hole-in-one by draining a tee shot on the 11th hole at Oaksridge Golf Course in Elma on Saturday, Aug. 4.

Sutton used a 4-iron to ace the par-3, 194-yard hole.

The hole-in-one was witnessed by Steve Poch.

Fishing derby upcoming in Lake Quinault

The Lake Quinault Fishing Derby will take place from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Quinault Lake Fisheries on South Shore Road in Lake Quinault.

All participants must have a fishing derby ticket, which can be purchased for $20 at the Amanda Park Mercantile Company, the Rain Forest Resort and the derby headquarters prior to the event.

Top prizes offered include a $1,000 grand prize for largest cutthroat trout and $500 for the top Dolly Varden trout.

Hoquiam boosters announce golf tournament

The Hoquiam Grizzly Booster Club will be hosting a golf tournament at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26 at the Highland Golf Course in Cosmopolis.

The cost to enter the scramble-format tournament is $200 for a team of four and includes lunch and a chance at winning prizes.

All proceeds will go to help support Grizzly Booster Club and Hoquiam High School activities.

Tickets for Aberdeen Bobcats sports now available

Aberdeen High School has announced its ticket prices and packages available for the fall sports season.

Several of the options offered include football reserve seating ($30), a fall sports pass ($54 adult/$36 senior citizen) which grants entry into 10 sporting events, and an annual sports ticket ($100) which grants entry into all home sporting events for the 2018-19 school year (excluding tournaments/post-season).

Individual game tickets are available for adults ($6), senior citizens ($4), and students with a valid ASB card.

A family ticket package is available for $18 and includes two adult and either two tickets for high school aged children or three tickets for elementary aged children.
