Mechelle Ann Hendricks, 54, former Hoquiam resident, died Wednesday June 7, 2023, in Hoquiam, Washington.

She was born on June 18, 1968, in Aberdeen to Paul and Nadine (Curley) Hendricks. She grew up in Hoquiam and attended Hoquiam schools until she and her older sister were moved to Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon. After that she returned to Hoquiam and started a family. Later she went to Grays Harbor College to receive her GED, and then DeWitt’s Beauty College to become a cosmetologist.

Mechelle enjoyed cooking big meals for her family and baked the best pies. She liked to go to the casinos, sing karaoke, listen to music, play pool, collect many things, watch movies with her kids, and was usually late for everything.

Mechelle is survived by five sons: Jon (Kristen) Parker of Aberdeen, Tyler Parker of Hoquiam, Nolan Charley of Aberdeen, Anthony Charley and Jade Charley both of Taholah; a daughter Mariah (Charles Pappan) Parker of Hoquiam; three brothers: Paul Hendricks of Aberdeen, Sonny Perez of Glendale, Arizona and Ryan Hendricks of Taholah; two sisters: Robin Perez and Juanita Perez both of Olympia; and two grandchildren: Payton Pappan and Kelowna Charley. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kim Hendricks.

There will be a lunch and celebration of life for Mechelle on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the Taholah Community Center in Taholah following a private inurnment at Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington
