Jason Clifford “Ajax” Jackson, age 47, a resident of Aberdeen, died on Jan. 4, 2018, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital.

Jason Clifford “Ajax” Jackson, age 47, a resident of Aberdeen, died on Jan. 4, 2018, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. Jason was born on Jan. 2, 1971, in Aberdeen to Clifford Leo and Edie Noreen (Capoeman) Jackson. He was raised in Taholah and attended school in Taholah and Moclips. In school, he participated in Track and softball. Although leaving school early, he completed his GED.

At the age of 16, he began working for Quinault Pride, working his way to Plant Manager. He was also an EMT/Firefighter in Taholah, and had served as the Emergency Services Coordinator during the 1990’s; the Police Commission and the Gaming Commission. He also worked for QIN doing cable installation – The Cable Guy.

Ajax was a gadget guy, and had to have the latest and the greatest when it came to electronics, whether it was computers, video games or remote control cars. He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his mother, Edie Capoeman of Taholah; his spouse, Carlina Escalante of Aberdeen; a son, Leo Jackson of Aberdeen; a daughter, Araceli Jackson of Aberdeen; a twin sister, Noreen Jackson of Taholah; other siblings, Jim Darmiento of Tacoma, Gina Jackson-Bryson of Taholah, Adrian Jackson of Taholah and Loretta Williams of Aberdeen; two stepsons, Eban and Carlos Escalante and Nick Pittack, who he considered a son. The extended family includes numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

His father, Clifford Leo Jackson preceded him in death.

Visitation will be at the Coleman Mortuary on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 9, and 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A candlelight service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel. A funeral service will follow on at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at the Taholah School Gymnasium. Interment will be at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park at approximately 2 p.m.

Friends and relatives are invited to join at a dinner held at the Community Center in Taholah after the graveside service.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary, 422 – 5th Street in Hoquiam.
