Driftwood Players auditions

The Driftwood Players have scheduled auditions for the upcoming production of Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons,” a three-act play for teens and adults.

The play is based on the true story of a manufacturing conspiracy during World War II. It is set several years after the conviction of Steve Deever, and the exoneration of his partner Joe Keller, after their factory’s defective military-use aircraft parts results in the death of Army pilots.

The eldest Keller son, Larry, went missing in the war, but his mother Kate believes that he is still alive. Larry’s childhood sweetheart, Ann Deever, Steve Deever’s daughter, has become engaged to Larry’s younger brother Chris. Tensions between this engagement and the fact that Joe Keller was aware of the defective parts before selling them, fuel the central drama of a rare get-together of the two families.

Auditions are being held at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 1 and 2, at the Driftwood Playhouse, 120 E. Third in Aberdeen.

Director James Patrick is looking for six men and four women of various ages. He would like those auditioning to read the script before the auditions. Contact him at jamesthomaspatrick@gmail.com or call 360-464-7574.

Rehearsals will tentatively begin the week of Aug. 8 with details to be announced based on cast availability.
