The Grays Harbor Community Foundation has awarded nearly $290,000 in Community Building Grants to 14 organizations, with projects ranging from providing family support for early learning to offering free legal service to local low income clients.
“The foundation has been committed to serving our community for over the past 25 years and now, more than ever, we continue to serve Grays Harbor and our nonprofits to our full capacity,” said Grays Harbor Community Foundation Grants Chair Don Arima. “We have invested close to $25 million in over 25 years into Grays Harbor and are on track to invest close to $3 million into our nonprofits and schools this year thanks to our kind and generous community.”
The organizations that were funded through the foundation’s 2020 Second Cycle Community Building Grants program include:
Child Care Action Council – Early learning and family support
Coastal Community Action Program – Gravity Project HOPE
Coastal Harvest – Freezer and upgrade project
Coastal Interpretive Center – Remodel project
Community Youth Services – Security/safety Rosie’s Place
Connections – Victim’s advocacy/community outreach
Grays Harbor College Foundation – Student success
Grays Harbor Youth Works – Program Coordinator
Hands on Children’s Museum – STEAM learning kits and education
Olympic Area Agency on Aging – Senior funds
Pacific Harbors Council, Boy Scouts of America – Campership and scholarship fund
South Sound Parent to Parent – Virtual health and resources
The Bridge Music Project – Workshops for at-risk youth
Thurston County Volunteer Legal Services – Legal services to low income clients
