Colder weather, maybe snow, later in the week

The cooling trend for Western Washington is going to get even cooler the next few days, with daytime highs in the mid-30s predicted for Thursday and Friday and overnight lows in the mid-20s.

After Wednesday, it could bring some snow — all the way from the beach to the Cascades, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle, although it’s level of confidence for the snow forecast is low, the Weather Service said.

The forecast calls for a slight chance of snow in Aberdeen and Hoquiam on Wednesday morning before it warms up to 41 in the afternoon. Thursday brings a 40 percent chance of snow, up to an inch or so, with a predicted low that night of 25.

Ocean Shores has a 30 percent chance of snow on Thursday, up to two inches, the Weather Service said, and some chance of snow through the weekend. Highs in Ocean Shores are expected to be in the mid-30s from Thursday through the weekend, with lows in the mid-20s.

The coldest days all over Western Washington are expected to be Thursday and Friday, just in time for the start of the pandemic-delayed start of high school football games in areas where they will be allowed.
