The 14th annual Kettle Klash was held at Aberdeen’s Harbor City Church last Thursday. The fundraising event supports the local Salvation Army.

The 11 teams in attendance represented churches, service organizations and local businesses. The combined Harbor Lions Clubs were the top fundraising team for the fourth year in a row, and the No. 2 team was formed by the forestry and forest management industries. More than $25,000 was raised.

Also during the noon luncheon, three volunteers were honored for their years of dedicated service to the Harbor Salvation Army: the late Bob Preble of Aberdeen, Pete VanderLinden of Hoquiam and Arnold Samuels of Ocean Shores.
