The throng of expectant trunk-or-treaters extended far down the mall at the Shoppes at Riverside in Aberdeen on Oct. 27. The estimated 2,000 children far exceeded the 1,000 who attended in 2017.

Twenty-eight collector and custom cars and trucks filled the exhibition hall and spilled out into the mall. The vehicles represented support from the members of local clubs including the Midnight Cruizers, the Push Rods, the Beach Boyz, the LugNutz and the No Name Car Club.

The Midnight Cruizers, organizers of the event, secured a donation of 8,000 pieces of candy from Walmart for the event. Car owners also brought candy, and BiMart contributed some as well.

Car owners showed much creativity in decorating their cars for the fun and games. J’Nessa Giroski and Donnie Davison, for example, adorned their Dodge Challenger with webbing, huge spiders, a skeleton in the trunk, and a baby T-Rex breaking out of it shell. And Rod and Theresa Janke of Hoquiam adorned their 1921 Model A and 1966 Mustang with webbing, spiders, skeletons and a large, inflated black cat.

After trunk-or-treating in downtown Aberdeen in the morning and at the mall in the afternoon, this little raptor is catching a nap.
