Flossie Irene Forbes died peacefully in her sleep in Winlock, Wash. on Oct. 9, 2017.

Flossie Irene Forbes died peacefully in her sleep in Winlock, Wash. on Oct. 9, 2017. Flossie was 95.

Flossie is survived by her three sons; David Forbes of Hoquiam, Wash., Steven Forbes and Scott Forbes both of Winlock, Wash. Flossie was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Gentry who resided in East Hoquiam until her death in 1989.

Flossie was born on Feb. 9, 1922, in Kinta, Okla. To Thomas Jefferson Weathers and Julie Ann Weathers. The Weathers family left Oklahoma during the dust bowl and Great Depression, and traveled the country picking crops, eventually ending up in Naches, Wash.

Flossie met Orville Norman Forbes in Ocean City, Wash. And were married on Nov. 17, 1937, and divorced in 1963. Flossie graduated from Grays Harbor Community College and worked at Grays Harbor Equipment Co. until her retirement.
