Betty-Ruth Parker, age 88, of Aberdeen passed away on April 19, 2018, at Montesano Health & Rehabilitation Center due to heart failure.

Betty-Ruth Parker, age 88, of Aberdeen passed away on April 19, 2018, at Montesano Health & Rehabilitation Center due to heart failure. She was born June 28, 1929, in Hoquiam, Wash., to Ruth and Nathan Daniels Sr. She was raised in Hoquiam and graduated from Hoquiam High School.

Betty-Ruth worked for local canneries both in Aberdeen and Hoquiam, for Swanson’s Laundry Mat and at the Nordic Inn, as a kitchen worker. She retired in the 1970s.

She married Lyle John Parker on Aug. 19, 1949; he passed away in 2013.

Betty-Ruth enjoyed cooking, camping, playing cards and cribbage. Most of all she enjoyed collecting things to do with hummingbirds – even holding the feeder while the little birds fed.

Betty-Ruth is survived by her sons Dennis (Cathy) Parker of Hoquiam and Gary Parker of Central Park; daughters Carlyn Parker (Stan Osina) of Satsop Valley; brother Nathan (Pam) Daniels; sister Dolrores; grandchildren Tina Parker (Brad Caton), Somer Osina, Paul Christiansen, Stanley Osina, Carlyn Parker and Skyler Parker; great-grandchildren Brinkley, Spencer, Hannah, Preston, Kyle and Seth. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and sister Joanne Olson.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at Montesano Health & Rehab for their excellent care.

At mom’s request, there will not be a memorial.
