Riverside Cinemas to re-open its doors at the Shoppes at Riverside Friday

Riverside Cinemas in the Shoppes at Riverside will reopen Friday, according to a statement from theater owners late Monday.

“We will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for movies,” read the statement. “All tickets are $5.”

The theater, owned by Coming Attractions Theatres, ceased operations March 18 due to COVID-19 concerns. Under Phase 3 of Gov. Jay Inslee’s safe start plan, which Grays Harbor County entered June 17, theaters were allowed to reopen.

Coming Attractions has listed requirements for movie viewers:

• Social distancing: Moviegoers must maintain at least two seats of separation between themselves and other patrons, unless they are from the same household. Either way, groups of 10 or more are prohibited. A dedicated staff person will help guide and move moviegoers if needed.

• Sanitation: There will be hand sanitizer stations at the theater and “enhanced sanitation protocols are being conducted throughout the day in our facilities in compliance with CDC guidelines,” according to a company statement.

• Masks: The theater requires face coverings be worn when entering and leaving theaters, when visiting the concession stand, and whenever physical distancing can’t be maintained.

An announcement from Shoppes at Riverside Monday stated that all visitors to the mall must be wearing a face covering while inside the building, and can only be removed while seated and eating at the food court, just outside the entrance to the theater.
