STEVENSON — Four Elma pitchers combined on a no-hitter as the Eagles trounced Stevenson in non-league play Monday.

Colten French, Carter Jacobson, Justin Elliott and D.J. Coonse combined on the no-no. The Eagle pitchers, however, issued nine walks and also hit a batter.

“When we got it over the plate, we were OK. But we’ve got to not walk guys,” Elma coach Jim Hill said. “Hopefully, it’s the early-bird blues.”

Jacobson was cited by Hill for a particularly fine relief stint.

Brody Rustemeyer had two hits and drove in three runs for Elma.

The Eagles (2-3) host Napavine on Wednesday.

TUMWATER — Braden Dohrmann’s run-scoring single in the seventh inning gave Montesano a come-from-behind win over Tumwater in a non-league game Monday at Tumwater.

The Bulldogs (2-1) capitalized on a huge break in the seventh. With his team trailing 2-1, Kobe Gallinger scored the tying run all the way from first base when the T-Birds dropped Aaron Lano’s potential game-ending outfield fly.

Dohrmann followed with the game-winning hit up the middle. Ben Wills, who relieved starter Nate Kloempken in the bottom of the seventh, worked a scoreless inning to pick up the save.

Kloempken was working on a no-hitter before an error opened the door for a two-run Tumwater sixth inning.

“Kloempken pitched a heck of a game,” Monte coach Mike Osgood said. “We were fortunate to get out of there with a victory, for sure.”

Osgood also cited Wills for his relief work and Lano for outfield defense.

The Bulldogs travel to Castle Rock today.

Although the Elks (0-1, 0-3) struggled to make contact, Lake Quinault coach Keith Samplawski said shaky defense was perhaps a greater factor.

“We just couldn’t make the routine plays,” he said. “For some reason, we played tight and made some mental errors along with routine physical ones.”

He cited Allen Espinoza and freshman Thunder Mowitch for fine play.
