Ryan Cole shot the lowest score of the day, shooting a 38.

Hoquium cruised past La Center, 161-188, in a Southwest Washington 1A League boys golf match Monday at Highland Golf Course.

Ryan Cole shot the lowest score of the day, shooting 38 on the back nine of the Highland Golf Course. Josh Burgher was right behind him with 39 while Brayden Dayton had a solid day himself with a 40.

Tyler Sundstrom shot a 44 and Michael Jump contributed a 47. Joel Emery rounded out the scoring with a 65.

Wilohm Allen topped La Center with a 46.

Hoquium head coach Larry Dublanko said it was encouraging to see his golfers shoot some of their best scores while they prepare for the district tournament.

“It is good to see Ryan and Josh playing steady golf. Brayden and Tyler were major contributors in our win today,” he said. “We are approaching the part of the season when our mental game needs to be at its best and I think we are making progress.”

Hoquium visited Elma on Tuesday at Oaksridge Golf Course.
