Ocean Shores resident Leslie “Shawn” Aleshire, age 56, died on Sept. 20, 2021, at Copalis Beach, Washington. Shawn was very well-known around the Harbor. He was a cook and worked in many of the finest dinner houses on the Harbor as well as in Oregon.
He was also a contractor carpenter with his best friend Art Jones. He was practically a member of the family knowing Art since he was a young child. Shawn had many friends and family on the Harbor. A very good friend Tim Diehm was with him a lot during the past few years — the best landlord ever. Shawn nicknamed him “Slumlord” as a joke. Shawn was a real jokester.
Shawn was preceded in death by the love of his life Jill; his parents Lois Dunigan and Russell (Buck) Aleshire and his bio dad Charles Emery; grandparents, William and Faye Rudd, uncles William Squeek Rudd and Robert Moorman; and aunts Edna Church and Rebecca Heath. He leaves behind brothers, Russell Oden Aleshire (who passed just shortly after Shawn’s passing), Loren Ehly, Scott Jones; his daughter/niece, Michelle Ehly; son/nephew Shawn Michael Ehly aka Mr. Mooney; and aunts Claudia Moorman and Charmaine Moornan-Burgin. There are many cousins and many wonderful friends.
There will be no funeral or celebration of life as requested by Shawn. He wants you to laugh and be happy — no tears. Until we meet again.
