Ruby May Hobaugh

Ruby May Hobaugh passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, at her home in Aberdeen.

Ruby May Hobaugh, 88, Aberdeen resident and former owner of the Cozy Inn Tavern, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, at her home in Aberdeen.

Ruby was born on May 8, 1932, in Seattle, Washington to Daniel Frank and Rosina (Ward) Wilkes. She had 10 siblings. Her family moved to Port Angeles, where she lived until 1950, when she married William Hobaugh at the age of 17. He later passed away.

She and her husband moved to Aberdeen in 1976 and bought the Cozy Inn Tavern and operated it for the next 10 years. She then worked at the Midway Tavern until retiring in 1998.

Ruby was a member of the Aberdeen VFW, and she loved to shop and get out and just do stuff.

Ruby is survived by her daughter Candie Owen of Aberdeen; two sons: James Hobaugh Jr. of Aberdeen and Danny (Katie) Hobaugh of Montesano; a sister, Dorothy Hock of Conrad, Montana; many grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, William “Willy” Hobaugh and the rest of her siblings.

Per her request, there will be no services.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
