Randall “Randy” Hooper passed away on Aug. 14, 2023, in King County.

Randall “Randy” Hooper passed away on Aug. 14, 2023, in King County. Randy was born to Dean and Lena May Hooper on Nov. 15, 1952, at Grays Harbor Hospital. Randy grew up in Montesano and graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1973. Randy then married his wife, Judy Greenfield in 1975, and they moved to Hoquiam and had two daughters, Amy and Jamie.

Randy is survived by his wife Judy Hooper; his daughter, Amy Hooper and her children Kaitlyn Marten and Randall Hooper; and daughter Jamie and her husband Josh and their child John. Randy is also survived by his older brother Eddie Hooper.

From 1976 to 1999 Randy worked at different mills in Grays Harbor, including Evans and Posies until Posies closed.

In the 2000s Randy started working as a cook at the Lake Quinault Lodge, where he retired.

Some of Randy’s hobbies were bowling, racing and camping. Randy was always able to find someone to talk to when he was out and about.

Randy’s celebration of life will be held at the Aberdeen Elks on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. It is a potluck, so bring your favorite dish.
