Patricia “Pat”passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at the age of 84.

Patricia “Pat”passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at the age of 84.

Pat was born to Geneva C. Russell and Raymond J. Kloempken on Oct. 29, 1937, in Aberdeen, Washington. Pat grew up in Aberdeen and attended Saint Mary’s Catholic School in Aberdeen and Weatherwax High School. She later attended Grays Harbor College.

Pat married Virgil L. Patton on Oct, 14, 1955. He preceded her in death July 16, 1995.

Pat is survived by sons Ed Kettman of Yelm, Washington, Josh Barrak of Shelton, Washington, Russell Patton (Joni Patton) of Goldendale, Washington, Wesley Patton (Pam Patton) of Montesano, and Scott Patton (Wena Patton) of San Diego, California; daughters, Rose Mathis (Joe Mathis) of Thorne Bay, Alaska, Gina White (Tedd White) of Aberdeen, and Rachel Brown (Jeremiah Brown) of Hoquiam. Son Brett Patton preceded her in death Aug. 6, 2019. She has 27 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by brothers Robert Kloempken of Hoquiam, Charles Kloempken of Hoquiam, Raymond (Jr) Kloempken of Lakewood and Lewis Kloempken of Ocean Shores, and a sister, Mary Banks of Redmond. Her brother Ronald Kloempken preceded her in death Feb. 24, 2022. In addition to family, she is also survived by her best friend of nearly 80 years — Kirsten Wiser of Portland, Oregon.

Pat was devoted to her family. Her life was her children and grandchildren. She loved arts and crafts and each year made Halloween costumes not only for her children, but the neighbor children as well.

Pat and her husband taught their children to be self-sufficient, how to forage in the forest and were mushroom hunters. She collected wildflowers wherever she visited. She and her family were also avid campers.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
