Marjorie Cronkhite Ingram

Marjorie Cronkhite Ingram of Lakewood and former resident of Aberdeen, died on Jan. 31, at the age of 92.

Marjorie Cronkhite Ingram of Lakewood, Washington and former resident of Aberdeen, Washington died peacefully on Jan. 31, at the age of 92.

Marge was born on Jan. 9, 1930, in Tacoma, Washington and raised in Seattle, Washington. She attended The Bush School in Seattle graduating class of 1947, Briarcliff Junior College in Briarcliff, New York until 1949 and University of Washington, Seattle until 1952 and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority.

Marge married James A. Ingram of Aberdeen, Washington on Dec. 27, 1952. After Jim’s service in the Navy they lived in Aberdeen where Jim was co-owner of E.C. Miller Cedar Lumber Co, and where they raised their family. In 1984 they moved to Lakewood, Washington. Marge was a member of the Tacoma Country and Golf Club, Tacoma Garden Club and P.E.O. Marge was a keen bridge player, avid reader, talented needleworker and a loyal football fan. Marge’s love for Hood Canal stretched over 70 years where she and Jim spent every summer on Sunset Beach with their family and friends.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James A. Ingram. She was also preceded in death by grandson Todd M. Hager. Marge is survived by daughters Jane Ingram Hager of Kirkland, Washington and Susan Ingram Slivka of Anchorage, Alaska, brother John M. Cronkhite of Kirkland, Washington; grandchildren Kelsey J. Hager of Edmonds, Washington, and David A. Slivka and Mark I. Slivka of Anchorage; and great-granddaughters Levi J. Paris and Nelly S. Paris of Edmonds.

We will remember Marge’s friendly smile, sharp mind and wit. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club, Lakewood, Washington on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 2 p.m.
