Donald W. Malone

Donald W. Malone, 59, passed away in Tacoma after a brief illness.

Donald W. Malone (Donnie, The Don, The Donald, Duncan, Don Don), 59, passed away in Tacoma after a brief illness. Donnie was a lifelong Harborite growing up in North Aberdeen, then moving to the family farm out the Wishkah. He graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1983.

Donnie spent his working career as a heavy equipment operator at Friend & Rikalo which then became NW Rock. The last 10 years of his career were spent at Stafford Creek Wood Waste Landfill. He retired in 2013.

Donnie was an avid hunter. He loved to hunt deer and elk. Rarely a year went by that he didn’t get his deer and elk.

Those of us that knew Donnie knew he loved to make you laugh even at his own expense. He loved his family and friends and was quick to tell you how much you meant to him.

Donnie is survived by his sons: Jordan and Lucas Malone; granddaughters Hannah and Emma Malone; his Dad Huey Malone; his brother Gary Malone (Diana) and several nieces and nephews. Donnie is preceded in death by his Mom Sharon Malone; his brother, James Malone, and his grandparents: James and Etta Womer; and Ruby and Harold Brickner.

There will be a celebration of life for Donnie at the Aberdeen Elks on Saturday, Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. This will be a potluck. Bring your favorite dish and share your memories of Donnie with his family. To leave a memory or note of condolence, please visit www.fernhillfuneral.com
