DeVere “Dee” Phyllis Peltzer passed away at home in Grayland on May 3, 2022.

DeVere “Dee” Phyllis Peltzer passed away at home in Grayland on May 3, 2022. She was born to Charles DeVere Turner and Phyllis Martha Hawley on July 29, 1933, in Seattle, Washington. Dee was raised in Seattle and graduated from Franklin High School class of 1948.

On Dec. 29, 1950, Dee married Robert Lewis Peltzer in Seattle, Washington. Together they moved to this area in 1994. They were married for 56 years before Robert passed away on June 19, 2007.

During her life, Dee worked for Turner’s Grocery from 1950 to 1960, Cloe’s Fine Apparel from 1960 to 1965, Bagnariol Insurance from 1965 to 1980 and Glendale Insurance from 1984 to 1994.

She was a part of St. Paul’s Church and the PTA, and she was an avid bowler. She enjoyed cross-stitching and quilting.

Dee is survived by her sons Richard Charles (Teresa) and Robert Lewis; daughter Jerene DeVere (Dean and children) Ramsey; brothers Charles Philip and Timothy Mark Turner; sister Terry Dawn Hammond; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, both parents, daughter RichAnn Peltzer and daughter-in-law Gloria.

A service was held on June 4, 2022, at the South Beach Community Church.
