Daniel F. Putt, 79, passed away on Feb. 9, 2022.

Dan moved to Washington in the early ‘60s where he went to the police academy and became a Hoquiam officer.

During this time, he met the love of his life Linda Puckett at a local coffee shop called The Hub. They married and had two children, Rodney and Randy. In the ‘70s Dan started a new career as a mechanic and dump truck driver for Friend and Rikalo Construction and moved to Montesano for several years.

In the ‘90s Dan left Friend and Rikalo as the Operations Director (now known as Northwest Rock), and he and his wife moved to Rochester in 1999 where they built their dream home.

While living in Rochester through the years Dan worked for Wilder, B-P and DLB in Olympia. During retirement Dan enjoyed mowing the lawn, gardening and working in his woodshop. His specialty was bird houses. In 2019 Dan started to develop dementia and needed extra care and lived out his last year of life at a local nursing home.

According to Dan’s son Rodney “he was the hardest working man I ever seen in my life, always willing to help and do whatever needed to be done for any of his friends and family.”

Dan is deeply missed by his family and especially his two granddaughters. Dan is survived by his wife Linda Putt of Rochester, son Rod Putt, daughter-in-law Adrien Putt and granddaughters Skyler and Samantha Putt of Elma; and son Randy Putt of Canby, Oregon.

If you would like to send cards of condolences please send addressed to Linda Putt, P.O. Box 976, Rochester, WA 98579. Our family would love to hear from his friends.
