George Richard Easton aka “Pudge,” 87, of Elma, Washington passed away on Monday, April 29th, 2024, at Grays Harbor Health and Rehab.

George Richard Easton aka “Pudge,” 87, of Elma, Washington passed away on Monday, April 29th, 2024, at Grays Harbor Health and Rehab. George was born on November 2nd, 1936, in Iowa to Elvin and Frances Easton. He was raised in Hawarden, Iowa and Miller, South Dakota and moved to Elma when he was sixteen years old.

He married Joy Thurman on November 8th, 1957, at the Christian Missionary Alliance in Elma, Washington. He was a member of the National Guard from 1954-1962. Throughout George’s life he was a truck driver for Weyerhaeuser, Simpson, and Kenny Martin Logging. In 1999 he retired from Grays Harbor County after 20 years. George was a member of the Sharon Grange, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the Oak Creek Feeding Station in Naches, Washington. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, camping, and hiking.

George is survived by his wife Joy Easton, of 66 years, who resides at the family home; son Rod Easton of Elma, Washington; brother Tom Easton (Linda) of Elma, Washington and sister Mary-Ann Schweitzer (Ron) of Elma, Washington; as well as 6 grandchildren, Robert, Matt, April, Brittany, Kristopher and Travis, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Gary Easton and grandson Robert Easton.
