Cara Jean (Phillips) Corder

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wellton, Arizona resident, Cara Jean Corder.

June 5, 1940 – February 16, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wellton, Arizona resident, Cara Jean Corder. She was born to Homer & Mockey Phillips in Tumwater, Washington.

Cara lived most of her life in Montesano, Washington. In 1958, she graduated from Montesano High School and married her husband, Jack Corder. He survives in the family home in Wellton.

Cara worked various jobs on the Harbor including Durney Insurance, ITT Rayonier Vanillin Plant, Hoquiam Plywood and Walmart. After her retirement, she worked several jobs in Arizona including Jac’s Whistle Stop Café and Arrowhead RV Park. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, camping, traveling, singing, playing music and performing karaoke with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by daughters Cathy (Jae) Thomason of Montesano, Washington and Ann (Rich) Taylor of Wellton, Arizona, and a son, Keith (Shelly) Corder of Hoquiam, Washington. A brother, Mark Phillips of Tucson, Arizona and a sister, Rosella Smith of Vancouver, Washington, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Donald Phillips.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on March 25 at the Citrus City Community Center in Wellton, Arizona.
