Bernice Porter

Former East County resident Bernice Porter, who had been the director of nursing at Oakhurst Convalescent Center in Elma and later worked at Edgewood Manor in Montesano, died Monday, March 25, 2024, in Olympia. She was 90.

A service will be held at noon, Saturday, June 8, at Bethany Baptist Church in Elma.

Sandra E. Laverty

Sandra Eileen Laverty, a 68-year-old resident of Ocean Shores, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital.

Arrangements are by Harrison Family Mortuary.

Karen A. Chartrey

Former Aberdeen resident Karen Ann Chartrey died Thursday, April 25, 2024 at her home in Lacey. She was 71.

There will be no services for her. She will be inurned with her husband Gary in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.

Cremation are by Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.

Donald Lyons

Montesano resident Donald Lyons died Friday, April 26, 2024 in Seattle. He was 68.

He had worked at the Weyerhaeuser pulp mill.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Light and Life Community Church in Hoquiam.
