Two more dates for drive-through COVID-19 testing have been added in Pacific County, according to a statement from Pat Matlock, public information officer for the Pacific County emergency operations center.

There will be a drive-through testing site in South Bend on Wednesday and a second in Long Beach on Thursday.

The priority list for testing was recently expanded in the county, said Matlock. Priority groups now include those who are symptomatic AND in one of the following groups:

• Symptomatic pregnant women

• Symptomatic individuals who are immune-compromised

• Symptomatic individuals who are over age 65

This is in addition to previously prioritized groups which include:

• Symptomatic healthcare employees. Includes all staff, such as kitchen staff, maintenance, etc., who work in healthcare facilities including long term care and assisted facilities. This also includes home health care workers.

• Symptomatic public safety workers. Includes law enforcement, corrections officers, firefighters and EMS workers.

• Symptomatic pharmacy and grocery store workers.

• Other symptomatic employees who work in business that serve the public.

One or more of the following symptoms are required for testing: fever greater than 100.4 degrees, dry cough or shortness of breath.

Appointments for those meeting the criteria of a symptomatic priority group can be made by calling the Pacific County Emergency Operations Center at 360-875-9407 or 360-642-9407.
