At the time the picture was taken Thursday afternoon the temperature in Aberdeen was 92, in Hoquiam 86, and further south, 110 in Brooklyn. In the east county, Elma was at 102. The smoke came from massive wildfires in British Columbia and is expected to hang around through at least Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. The area heat advisory is expected to be lifted by 10 p.m. Thursday, and temperatures are expected to drop to the mid 70s by Friday.
