    PHOTO COURTESY OF DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY                                The Department of Ecology reported about 9 a.m. Thursday that their response to the two sunken boats in the Hoquiam River at 220 Monroe Street initiated early Wednesday afternoon continues. Attempts are being made to get the owners to remove the vessels. If they are unable to do so Thursday, Ecology will hire divers to remove fuel and other hazardous materials, which created a noticeable and odorous sheen Wednesday. The two vessels, both 45-50 feet long, one concrete hulled, the other fiberglass and wood, are owned by two different owners.
