Pacific County expands drive through testing parameters

SOUTH BEND — Pacific County authorities have expanded drive-through COVID-19 testing to include anyone meeting symptoms requirements, regardless of age. A screening is done to determine whether an actual test will be conducted.

The screenings to determine if a test is done will be looking for people of any age experiencing one or more of the following symptoms — fever higher than 100.4 degrees, dry cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches, and/or loss of appetite.

This week’s driv- through test dates are Wednesday, April 15, in South Bend and Thursday, April 16, in Long Beach.

Primary testing priority groups still include:

1. Symptomatic health care workers (that includes all staff, such as kitchen staff, maintenance, etc., who work in health care facilities, including long term care and assisted living facilities. It also includes home health care workers.

2. Symptomatic vulnerable adults in a congregate setting.

3. Symptomatic public safety workers (law enforcement, including corrections officers, fire fighters, EMS).

4. Symptomatic pharmacy employees and grocery store employees and other employees who work in businesses that serve the public.

5. Symptomatic people who are immune compromised.

6. Symptomatic people over 65 years of age.

7. Symptomatic pregnant women.
