Grays Harbor County sees increase in unemployment rate

Unemployment numbers remain the same in Pacific County

The Washington State Employment Security Department has released unemployment figures for the month of January. Information compiling the Grays Harbor County Labor Market report shows a slight uptick from 8.6 to 9.0 percent of its workforce without a job. The number of people unemployed county-wide now stands at 2,527 up from 2,386 previously reported in December of 2016.

The unemployment rate in Pacific County held steady, mirroring the December rate of 8.3 percent.

Despite the increase in Grays Harbor County, it still pales in comparison to Ferry County, which comes in with the highest unemployment rate in the state with 12. 5 percent of its workforce out of a job.
