The 54th annual Loggers Playday featured a friendly face-off between two local mayors, as Aberdeen’s Erik Larson agreed to a log-rolling contest with Hoquiam’s Jasmine Dickhoff during Saturday’s festivities.
The duo good-naturedly struck competitive poses with chainsaws beforehand, then later high-fived each other, laughing, as they slogged out of the pond afterward.
Larson won all three rounds, giving Aberdeen bragging rights for this year. Will there be a rematch? “Oh, yes,” said Dickhoff. “I plan on getting some practice!”
