Bishop Center to host ‘Symphony of Surprises’

The Grays Harbor Symphony Orchestra will present “A Symphony of Surprises” on Sunday evening at the Bishop Center in Aberdeen.

The Grays Harbor Symphony Orchestra will present “A Symphony of Surprises” on Sunday evening at the Bishop Center in Aberdeen.

The program will also feature three young musicians, the winners of the Grays Harbor Music Teachers’ annual Concerto Competition: vocalists Ben Fagerstedt and Allison Patterson, and Hero Windsor on the French horn.

Conducted by William Dyer, the orchestra will also be playing Haydn’s Symphony No. 94, “Surprise,” along with portions of Shostakovich’s “Ballet Suite,” Holst’s “Brook Green Suite” and Williams’ “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Suite.”

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door for $12 for adults, $10 for students. Children 12 and younger will be admitted free.
