Three Aberdeen High School students are among the winners of a regional competition held recently in Tumwater.
Joshua Farrar, Lauren King and Karie Turner, all art students at Aberdeen High School, were recognized for their work at the 47th annual Capital Region ESD 113 Art Show. The region includes 44 school districts, one tribal compact school and approved private schools in Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Grays Harbor and Pacific counties.
In addition, Joshua won a $3,000 scholarship to Central Washington University.
The winners were chosen from among 276 submissions from high school students across the region. They will go on to the state-level art show at the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction in Olympia.
