Lifelong Elma resident, Randy Lee Carlson, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Summit Pacific Medical Center. He was 69. Randy was born on Dec. 5, 1948, to Jack and Alpha Carlson. After graduation, he attended Grays Harbor College and went to work for the City of McCleary.

Randy enjoyed nature and the outdoors. He was also a WWII historian, excellent artist and a heck of a father.

On July 25, 1970, Randy married Carolyn Yvonne Ruckman at the Elma United Methodist Church.

Randy is survived by his children Felix Carlson, Sonny Carlson and Emily (Tom) Valentine, all of Elma; grandchildren, Gage Carlson, Taihler Valentine and Thomas Valentine Jr.; and great-grandchildren Logan and Brody Carlson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Gary and Donald Carlson.

Randy will always be remembered for his love of laughter.
