Jean Leslie Lauerman the daughter of Edward and Nellie Moen (Hoiby) passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017.

Jean Leslie Lauerman the daughter of Edward and Nellie Moen (Hoiby) passed away at 4:20 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017. She was in her home at Warm Beach Senior Community Center in Stanwood, Wash. Jean died of natural causes at the age of 91. She was born in Seattle, Wash. on Dec. 17, 1925.

She graduated from Ballard High School in the class of “43”. Jean met her husband Kenneth Lauerman square dancing which both enjoyed every Saturday night. Jean and Ken were married at Ballard First Lutheran Church, in Seattle on Aug. 28, 1953. Jean helped Ken through optometry school and was his receptionist after opening his practice in Montesano. She enjoyed square dancing, hiking, knitting, gardening, canning and playing with her grandchildren. She volunteered for many years at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Brier, Wash. When Jean and her husband Ken retired to Warm Beach Senior Community Center they could be seen most days serving lunch to residents and friends in the cafeteria. She was dearly loved and will be missed by her many friends and family.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents Edward & Nellie Moen. Her sister Janet Karabach (Moen), her daughter Leslie VanWyck (Lauerman), son David Lauerman and son Steve’s wife Leah.

Jean is survived by her sons Steve Lauerman, Wayne Lauerman and wife Beverly; grandchildren Lisa and husband Kevin, Laurie and husband Jeff, Brenda and husband Keith, Bonnie, Krista and husband Clay, Megan and partner Donnie, Cori and wife Morgan; great-grandchildren Derek and wife Trisha, Dylan and wife Maggie, Kecia, Robbie, Jamie, Kevin, Brant, Alessia, and Jaiden; and great-great-grandchildren Trey and Riley.

The memorial service celebrating Jean’s life will be held Sunday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. at The Beachwood Chapel at Warm Beach Senior Community Center,
