Janis Kay Hindman, 65, passed away from cancer in Hoquiam April 20, 2019, at Pacific Care Rehabilitation Center.

Janis Kay Hindman, 65, passed away from cancer in Hoquiam on April 20, 2019, at Pacific Care Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Aberdeen, Washington, Sept. 23, 1953. Janis graduated from Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen.

For many years she worked at Duffy’s No. 1 until a back injury caused an early retirement.

She was a member of the G.H. Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hoquiam.

Janis loved to crochet and embroidery and made many blankets and pillow cases for friends and family. She won ribbons at G.H. County Fair for her pillow cases. Recently she started making beaded pictures. She loved Bingo and played three times a week. Her dog Gizmo was a joy to her.

Her parents, Russell and Maxine Hindman, predeceased her. She is survived by her sister Cheryl Bales, her nephew Michael Balagot, niece Lisa Felts and longtime friends and caregivers Tom and Pamela Stone.

A memorial will take place May 5, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church — 3101 Cherry St. Hoquiam, WA.
