Eddie E. Catron

Eddie E. Catron, age 86, a resident of Hoquiam, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam. Mr. Catron was born in Balkan, Ky. on April 4, 1932. to James A. and Carrie (Harris) Catron.

He moved with the family to Darlington, Md. in the 1940s. There he met Virginia C. Petty. They were married on Dec. 30, 1951. In 1957, they moved to Hoquiam where Eddie worked as a logger and shake sawyer.

An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, match shooting and loading shells. He was a lifetime member of the Poggie Club where he enjoyed long live the kings, the kid’s fishing derby and a member of the Hoquiam Elks and Eagles. He enjoyed taking his dog Spade to the bay to meet with friends.

Eddie is survived by his wife Virginia C. Catron of the family home in Hoquiam; two sons, Daniel E. Catron (Kay) of Central Park and Kenneth E. Catron (Teresa) of Goldbar, Washington; five grandchildren, Melissa K. Catron, Ryan D. Catron, Tristyn M. Catron, William L. Catron and Debra Van Housen; four great-grandchildren, Kaylen Van Housen, Xzandria Van Housen, Makenna Catron and Tommy Catron and many nieces and nephews. He absolutely loved his grandkids and great-grandkids, spending time with them and watching their activities.

His son J. Michael Catron, a daughter, Virginia Ann (Sandy) Crabb and three sisters, Pauline Fraizier, Carrie Sue Pauley and Amy Lou Hensley and a grandson, Michael E. Catron Hammer passed previously.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Michael Catron Scholarship Fund, C/O Hoquiam High School, 325 W. Chenault St., Hoquiam, WA 98550 or to Harbor Assembly of God Church, 716 M. Street, Hoquiam, WA 98550.

Visitation will be at the Coleman Mortuary on Friday and Saturday, June 29, and 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Harbor Assembly of God Church with the Pastor Kenneth Middleton officiating. A potluck fellowship will follow at the church.There will be a private urn committal at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.

Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam, Wash.
