Dorothy Isabel Strain of Ocean Shores passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital following a brief illness. She was 85. Dorothy was born Dec. 5, 1932, in Monroe, Iowa to Lloyd and Hazel (Holcomb) Whetstine. Dorothy was raised in Monroe and attended Truro High School.

On Jan. 18, 1950, Dorothy married Perry Ray Strain in Casper, Wyo. He survives her at their home in Ocean Shores.

In addition to her husband Perry, Dorothy is also survived by her daughters Lianna Bunch of Elma, Wash. and Connie Snodgrass of Bucoda, Wash. and son Paul Strain of Blaine, Wash; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Ocean Shores Lions Club from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
