Dennis Keith Caruthers Sr., age 69, a resident of Hoquiam, died on June 30, 2018, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. Mr. Caruthers was born on May 16, 1949, in Aberdeen to George F. and Leola S. (Ross) Caruthers.

He graduated from Wishkah High School in 1967 and in 1968, enlisted in the Navy and served until 1970. He returned to the Harbor and worked for Hoquiam Plywood.

In 1971, he and Salinda (Cindy) D. Barnhart were married in Aberdeen.

Dennis had worked as a landscaper and gardener and had an antique business. In addition, he had worked part-time at the Dollar Store and at Fern Hill Cemetery.

He was a member of the Hoquiam Eagles.

In addition to his wife Cindy, he is survived by a son, Dennis K. Caruthers Jr. of Hoquiam; a sister, Pat Wilson of Hoquiam and two granddaughters, Alysta and Bella.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Robert Flannigan and a sister, Sharon Goodwin.

A private urn committal will be held at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.
